Why be a teacher?

A very learned man once told me that exceptional brilliance is not necessary to be a teacher. He said if you know the letter “a”, teach the letter “a”. Everyone can be a teacher. Learning has no walls.



As a formal profession, within structured educational settings, passion for teaching, knowing the subject matter, and liking young people are essential ingredients for becoming a teacher.

Many people see teaching as a way to contribute to the betterment of society. By educating the next generation, teachers play a crucial role in building a more informed, a knowledgeable and capable society.

Caveat Emptor... Before buying into teaching as a career be aware that teaching can be a demanding profession, with its share of challenges and responsibilities.

It is essential to balance work and personal life by taking regular breaks, using vacation days, and disconnecting from work during non-working hours. Establish clear boundaries between work and personal life. Avoid overworking and dedicate time to activities and hobbies outside of teaching.
